Job Details

We have a vacancy for a staff nurse to join our team within Outpatients. The post holder will join a team of Nurses, HCSW's and CSWs to provide excellent care for those coming in for an outpatient appointment, these may include dressing wounds in plastics nurse led clinic, performing ECGs or venepuncture. The successful candidate will work Monday - Friday including a variety of shifts ranging from 0800 - 2000, this will take place across Russell's Hall, Corbett and Guest sites. Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for the assessment of care needs and the development and implementation and evaluation of programmes of care without supervision. They will be required to actively participate in the teaching and supervision of other nursing and non-nursing staff. Thepost holder will also be required to take a lead / link role for the nursing unit/department to be determined on appointment/appraisal

Skills and Experience


  • Evidence of professional Development
  • Willingness to complete courses and training relevant to specialist area
  • Good organisational skills
  • Knowledge and experience assessing and dressing complicated wounds
  • Able to identify appropriate skill mix to ensure correct support for clinics across an orgnaisation
  • Computer literate
  • Knowledge of health and safety in workplace
  • Working knowledge of NICE guidelines and impact on services


  • Experience within hospital setting
  • Clinical competence in venepuncture, ECG or be willing to undertake training

Education Qualifications


  • Registered Nurse
  • Evidence of undertaking a recognised course of study in teaching and assessing, or willingness to complete


  • Degree level study
  • Recognised Management/Leadership course

Communication and Interpersonal Skills


  • Effective communication skills. verbal and written
  • Ability to work on own initiative or as part of a team
