The Eating Disorders Service Manager will work as an integral part of the leadership team within the inpatient specialist eating disorder service. The post holder will be required to ensure the existing service continues to offer patient centred care with good clinical governance, as well as taking forward ongoing service developments which meet the needs of the commissioned populations.

Main duties of the job

The role is to provide efficient and effective day to day management of the delivery of clinical care, ensuring best use of resources across the inpatient pathway.

The post holder will be expected to provide a high level of managerial and clinical supervision to staff from a variety of professional backgrounds.

The post holder will have performance management responsibility and ensure all targets are monitored and met. Promoting a culture based on the principles of recovery, choice and personalised care in which those with an eating disorder, and key supports/carers can expect to be actively involved in decision making about their treatment and care is a key element to the service ethos.

The Service Manager will ensure effective governance and delivery of the service model and specifications based on evidence and best practice guidance within commissioned requirements. Ensuring consistent implementation of clinical care pathways across the Eating Disorder Service and reporting on this internally and to local and national commissioners.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • Educated to degree or equivalent experience/competence.
  • Professional qualification in Nursing, or Allied Health Professional
  • Evidence of Continued Professional Development.


Desirable

  • Post-qualification training directly applicable to the delivery of Eating disorder services


Experience

Essential

  • Experience of managing staff within a mental health care setting.
  • Budget management.
  • Experience of working within the field of Eating disorders.
