An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the North Central London CAMHS Home Treatment Team (NCL HTT) We are looking for a highly skilledand committed Occupational Therapist to join the NCL CAMHS Home Treatment Team. This post will be based atSt Ann's Hospital, St Ann's Rd, London N15 3TH delivering specialist home treatment service for children and adolescents(12-18 years) across the NCL's five boroughs of Barnet, Enfield, Haringey, Camden and Islington.
Main duties of the job
To provide generic mental health and specialist systemic therapy assessments of a significant and complex nature with a view offormulating and implementing plans for the treatment and management of a child and adolescent's mental health problems within thecontext of family and other systems. These assessments will be based upon an appropriate conceptual framework and will employresearch based evidence and also information from appropriate rating scales, self-report measure, direct and indirect structuredobservations and semi-structured interviews with clients, family members and others involved in the client's care and service userfeedback.Working for your organisation

Job responsibilities
The post holder will work within the NCL covering Camden, Islington Barnet, Enfield and Haringey Child and Adolescent mental Health Tier 4 Home Treatment Team service. They will lead in the planning, development, and evaluation of the Occupational Therapy service in this specialist area. The post holder will work as part of the multi-disciplinary CAMHS team and be an active part of the senior management team contributing to the redevelopment of the Teams philosophy and policies. This is a specialist post requiring the postholder to have developed a range of complex clinic skills and to be able to manage the Occupational Therapy service within the team. They will be required to promote an understanding and awareness of the role of Occupational Therapy and actively engage in the process of continued professional development. This is an innovative post requiring an Occupational Therapist with knowledge and skills, leadership, and vision that they can be apply to this clinical field.
The successful candidate will be assisting the team in ensuring the provision of an exceptional standard of therapeutic care, in conjunction with the multi-professional team, to meet the needs of those using the service.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS

- HCPC registration
- BSc/ preregistration MSc or equivalent in Occupational Therapy
Desirable
- Post registration MSc in Occupational Therapy or mental health
- Leadership training or education
EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE
Essential
- Relevant clinical postgraduate experience in Occupational Therapy, including experience as a senior practitioner working with people with mental health problems
- Experience in the use of Occupational Therapy standardised assessments
Desirable
- Experience in child and adolescent psychiatry
- Experience in use of the Model of Human Occupation and related assessments including MOHOST.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Essential
- Able to manage difficult situations with child or young people and their families that have complex mental health conditions.
- Ability to manage clinical risk and understand child safeguarding procedures
- Effective leadership skills.
Desirable
- Effective presentation skills including use of a variety of appropriate media: power point or structured discussion/activities
- Evidence of ability to meet performance deadlines and support to ensure other meet deadlines.
