We have an exciting opportunity for registered healthcare professionals to join the Hospital Out of Hours Team at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, as a Advanced Clinical Practitioner.

Hospital Out of Hours is a team that provides and coordinates care to patients across a wide range of inpatient specialities across the Trust, outside of normal working hours.

AFC Band: AfC Band 7 rising to Band 8a once the post holder has successfully demonstrated the completion of the relevant Masters in Advanced Practice, and a portfolio of evidence containing supervised learning events which demonstrate completion of the clinical element of the core curriculum outlined in the Multi-Professional Advanced Clinical Practice Framework (HEE 2017).

We are happy to support those who have partially completed MSc ACP programmes in attaining their full masters.

Main duties of the job

To act as an autonomous, accountable practitioner working on their own initiative and in collaboration with nursing, medical and allied health professionals.

To act as team co-ordinator as required. Effectively co-ordinate team activities, being the 1st point of contact and prioritising the workload of the HOOH team, allocating tasks to appropriately skilledpersonnel to ensure appropriate and timely care for acutely ill adults.

Royal Hallamshire Hospital (RHH): When necessary, to act as team co-ordinator to be the 1st point of contact for site management issues related to staff, patients, general public, theenvironment and equipment, ensuring escalation where appropriate to the Duty Site Matron.

To provide specialist advice and safe and effective clinical care to adults who require urgent or emergency care.

To prioritise and refer individuals for further assessment and care.

Please also note this vacancy is banded dependent upon applicants experience relevant to this post. The banding of the successful applicant/s will start at Band 7 unless applicants meet the necessary threshold of skills and experience required to start on Band 8a.

Qualifications

Essential

  • (Band 7) Registered General Nurse with valid NMC
  • (Band 7 & 8a) 1st Degree or equivalent experience
  • (Band 7) APACS
  • (Band 7 & 8a) Non-Medical prescribing
  • (Band 7 & 8a) To have completed the national PEAP programme for practice supervisors or equivalent teaching and assessing qualification for those with ENB998.
  • (Band 8a) Registered Health Professional with appropriate valid registration.
  • (Band 8a) MSc in Advanced Practice (or equivalent qualification).


Desirable

  • (Band 8a) Evidence of further education.


Experience

Essential

  • (Band 7) Evidence of working as an ACP/Nurse Practitioner
  • (Band 8a) Significant evidence of working as an Advanced clinical Practitioner (ACP).
  • (Band 8a) Evidence of teaching within an Advanced Practice setting
  • (Band 8a) Evidence of supporting educational development of Trainee ACP's.
  • (Band 8a) Significant experience in Acute inpatient environments.


Desirable

  • (Band 8a)Experience in teaching position/environment.
