A fantastic opportunity for a unique Paediatric Diabetes Educator role has arisen for a Dietitian within a busy acute hospital in the beautiful city of Cambridge. As one of the largest teaching hospitals in the country, Addenbrooke's Hospital acts as both a regional and national specialist centre. Our department has over 90 Dietitians, Dietetic Assistants and Administrative Staff playing a vital role in many areas across the Trust.
In this role, you will be working with the Paediatric Diabetes Team. This team comprises of 8 Nurses and Dietitians who work together in the wider MDT in an extended educator role as key workers providing support, education and guidance in all aspects of care for children with diabetes. The team is also an active part of a regional network and undertake projects and on-call duties as part of this.
Depending on experience this role may also include the Paediatric National Severe Insulin Resistance patients.
This post would be ideal for experienced Band 6 Dietitians or Band 7 with a background in Paediatric Diabetes, service and policy development who are looking to gain skills in management of diabetes technology and holistic patient management.
Main duties of the job
To work as a member of the Nutrition and Dietetic Department and Paediatric Diabetes Teams providing highly specialist paediatric diabetes dietetic services to children and young people referred from throughout the Eastern Region.
Provide a regional dietetic network for the education and support of qualified Dietitians and Nurses who will continue to support children with diabetes.
To develop and participate in relevant audit and research projects and regular training programmes for Dietitians with input into Paediatric Diabetes Dietetics.
To be an active member of the Dietetic and Diabetes Educators Teams with a strong commitment to personal professional development.

- Appropriate diploma / degree to Masters level - such as Masters in Advanced Dietetic Practice or equivalent level of knowledge and experience
