Job Details

We have an opportunity for a highly motivated and autonomous Specialist Occupational Therapist to join our well established and Award-Winning nationally recognised community Stroke Service.

Following successful service development, wehave commenced Phase II of our new Integrated Community Stroke Model (ICSS) giving you the opportunity to help drive developing and implementing high quality care pathways and MDT training plans. Actively contributing to building a culture of research and development, with strong links to our local community supported by an invested interest in improving Stroke Rehabilitation.

Main duties of the job

This is a unique opportunity to work in a transformative and innovative way with the autonomy to shape the future of community Stroke Rehabilitation within North Staffs. Working in co-production with our service users and stroke networks with the overall aim being to improve the health and wellbeing of the population served.

Job description

Job responsibilities

We offer excellent support through CPD routes and building robust learning plans within the four pillars of AHP practice offering opportunities to represent and promote our service locally, regionally, and nationally including UKSF & CSP conferences.

Our service is transformational with the post holder requiring a level of experience and confidence to support with helping us drive the next exciting phase of our service model.The community role will require access to a vehicle, with UK driving licence and ability to work across a wide geographical area.

Person Specification



  • Degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent.
  • Registration with HCPC


  • Modules at Masters level
  • Evidence of further clinical study



  • Relevant NHS experience to the role including assessment and management of various conditions within the area of clinical speciality stroke rehabilitation.
  • Ability to manage time and caseload effectively.
  • Supporting service users, families, and carers in dealing with issues within the area of clinical speciality.


  • Experience of negotiation and conflict management in clinical situations.
