This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced consultant clinical psychologist to apply for a Directorate Lead Psychologist post in our Mental Health, Learning Disabilities and Secured Services Directorate.
In this role you would provide overall leadership, supervision and managerial support to the consultant psychologists who are leading a range of specialist psychology-led teams and specialties. These teams include our adult eating disorder team, complex PTSD service, personality disorder hub, and adult neurodevelopmental team, as well as specialty networks within adult mental health (community and inpatients), older adults, perinatal mental health and learning disabilities specialties.
You would also work closely with other senior clinical and managerial colleagues as part of the Directorate Management team and Clinical Executive to oversee the overall governance and quality of service delivery in the Directorate.
We are looking for a very experienced consultant psychologist, who has extensive and varied clinical expertise as well as demonstrable skills and experience in the leadership and management of others. The ability to work collaboratively with a wide variety of stakeholders and colleagues across complex systems is essential for the role.
In the role you would receive support and supervision from the Trust's Chief Psychologist, as well as working closely with senior colleagues in the Directorate Management Team.
Main duties of the job
To provide strategic and professional leadership for psychology and the wider psychological professions across the Directorate.
To line manage and supervise all the lead Consultant Psychologists in each Team/Specialty within the Directorate.
To hold overall responsibility for the Directorate budget for psychological professions staff, and psychology-led teams, delegating responsibility to lead Consultant Psychologists as appropriate.
To provide overall clinical leadership for psychological practice across the Directorate, and to ensure systems are in place and working effectively for the supervision and governance of psychological professions staff.To facilitate training, development and application of agreed models of psychological, psychosocial and psycho-educational interventions as needed within the Trust.
To support with the implementation of the programme to expand Psychological Therapies for Severe Mental Health Problems (PT-SMHP) across the Directorate, including workforce developments, expanding professional roles, and ensuring high-quality systems of training and supervision for practitioners and students.
To provide expert advice, consultation and supervision on the provision of psychological therapy and psychologically-informed care as required across the range of services and teams within the scope of the Directorate.

To work as a key member of the Directorate Management Team (DMT) and Clinical Executive, working with senior operational and clinical colleagues to ensure the overall governance, quality and safety of all services provided with the Directorate as a whole.
