We have an opportunity at Somerset Foundation Trust (SFT) to join the Cancer Service team as the Cancer Services Improvement Manager.

This post is a great opportunity to further your healthcare improvement and project management skills within Cancer services. The postholder will be working within a successful, dynamic team supporting with cancer improvements and development of new pathways in Somerset.

Main duties of the job

As a Band 7 Cancer Services Improvement Manager you will:
  • Deliver and lead Trust, and sometimes system-wide, improvement projects across a variety of topics with cancer services.
  • Work with a huge range of clinical teams and people from across the Trust.
  • Support with the implementation of Timed Pathways to support the delivery of cancer performance
  • Required to manage the planning, delivery and assurance of cancer services improvement programmes for Somerset Foundation Trust.
  • The ideal candidate will have an in-depth working knowledge of pathway redesign and will work to develop and embed a culture of continuous improvement within the clinical teams.
  • Expected to deliver highly effective cancer pathways by leading the work in a collaborative and supportive environment.

You'll be able to provide expertise, support, guidance and project management, from initial scoping of the pathway, plan development and engagement through to embedding pathway changes and monitoring sustainability in the achievement of Faster Diagnosis standards.
