An exciting opportunity to work in the Nursing Directorate has arisen. Working as part of the nurse education and development team, development, the Senior Nurse for Professional Practice will be the professional lead on all aspects of medicines safety and management, advanced practice and the nursing research agenda.

This is a strategic position, with the post holder being pivotal in assuring governance that will promote the delivery of safe and quality patient care.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Main duties of the job

As part of the Nursing Directorate team, the post holder will be the professional lead on all aspects of medicines management on advanced practice and the nursing research agenda.

Promoting and ensuring the safe use of medicines across the Health Board is key to this role, with the post holder being the main expert and advocate in this area.

Reporting to the Head of Nursing Education, Development and Regulation, the post holder will provide expert advice and guidance, leadership and support to the wider organisation to deliver:

*A medicines safety work plan promoting high quality and effective medicines safety

* Key objectives within the Nursing Strategy related to the development of research and increasing the nursing and midwifery research profile of ABUHB.

* A robust strategy underpinned by governance for the professional, framework for enhanced, advanced and consultant practice.

The post holder will contribute to the nursing directorate objectives and will work as part of the Nursing Directorate Team. They will work independently and have the autonomy to make decisions that directly influence the management and direction of professional nursing issues across the UHB.
