The post holder will be responsible for working with other members of the Audiology team to provide a high quality Audiology service to adults & children served by the Trust and in wider community locations. This will include the diagnostic evaluation and rehabilitation of adults with hearing loss.

The post holder will be based at Grimsby and will be expected to maintain a degree of flexibility to provide support at other sites as required. The Trust operates an Audiology Service from a number of Community Centres and the post holder may be expected to participate in rotas and to travel to work placements at these centres.

Main duties of the job

To perform audiometric tests to included audiometry and tympanometry for the assessment of auditory dysfunction, followed by the subsequent fitting and verification of hearing aid amplification. Assisting with the assessment of children of all ages and abilities

Person Specification

Education and Qualifications

Essential

  • At least one of the following: 1. BSc Audiology 2.Baat part I & II and ONC in MPPM 3. HAC examination pass


Desirable

  • M.Sc Audiology
  • Stage 1 sign language


Occupational Experience

Essential

  • Experience in the fitting of hearing aids
  • Experience / working knowledge of patient management systems e.g. Auditbase


Desirable

  • Previous experience within an NHS hospital setting, performing routine audiometry and the fitting of NHS hearing aids
  • Experience working with patient clients with special educational needs and/or dementia / Parkinson's
