The successful candidate will need to be a qualified Advanced Clinical Practitioner and will be responsible for leading on the development of education, training and workforce development opportunities in relation to advanced practice across the Trust. The post holder will be required to identify a clear vision of how advanced practice can be developed across the Trust to ensure that they are in line with specific clinical pathways and wider system agendas, with the aim to maximise the workforce development investment available.

The post holder will work alongside the Nursing Careers and Professional Standards Team, engaging with colleagues across corporate functions (such as Learning and Development and the People Directorate) and our three operational divisions.

Core outputs include:
  • Being a visible, accessible and active figurehead for Advanced Clinical Practice (ACP) across the Trust, and its system partners (in BNSSG and BSW ICBs).
  • Working collaboratively with operational colleagues, and with the Clinical Lead for Mental Health Workforce, to shape and mature the Trust's ACP offer, helping to forecast how the ACP landscape will look in one, three and five years' time.
  • Helping to ensure appropriate guidance, clinical governance, competency assessment and continuing education are in place, in line with the Multi-Professional Framework (HEE 2017).
  • Evaluating the impact of the ACP role across the Trust, and articulating both the clinical and financial benefits of the role.
  • The successful candidate will play a leading role in Advanced Practice Oversight groups in developing, and implementing a multi-professional advanced practice strategy, and co-ordinate projects of work as identified by the working groups.
