We are looking for enthusiastic, hardworking Pharmacy Technicians to join our team of skilled Clinical Technicians to provide high quality medicines management for the Trust.
You will provide a clinical pharmacy service to a group of wards under the supervision of a Clinical Pharmacist. We support the development of our staff through our Education and Training Department.
You must be registered with the GPhC as a Pharmacy Technician and must have at least 12 months' post registration experience. Also you must have been working as a band 4 Pharmacy Technician in hospital, for a minimum of 12 months.
Main duties of the job
You will provide safe and efficient pharmaceutical care, ensuring that all medication required is assembled in a timely manner. You will participate in a 7 day Medicines Management service to the wards.
You will provide the full range of clinical duties of a pharmacy technician with particular emphasis on Medicine Reconciliation including the use of patient's own drugs and facilitate the discharge medication supply.
You will be required to work in a designated specialism or management area and be prepared to take on more responsibility.
You must have obtained the accredited checking pharmacy technician (ACPT) qualification and obtained the medicine optimisation programme or have a Pharmacy Technician Integrated Apprenticeship qualification or an equivalent qualification. If you do not hold the practice supervisor and a leadership course qualification, you could be considered for a Band 4 to 5 progression post, depending on experience, but you must be willing to undertake both of these courses.
