We are recruiting for a Band 5 Senior Pharmacy Technician Aseptic Services who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a keen and reliable individual to join the Pharmacy Aseptic Unit at Arrowe Park Hospital, Wirral.
This position will involve working within the Pharmacy team and alongside a multi-disciplinary team of health and wellbeing professionals to deliver high quality services to patients. A key part of this role will be to provide administrative and clerical support to the pharmacy aseptic unit.

You will partake in an in-house training program of development to ensure high standards of patient care are maintained and will have the opportunity to be involved in service development and procedures implementation of our aseptic services.
Main duties of the job
The Job Description outlines the roles of an Aseptic Services Senior Pharmacy Technician. You will provide support to the Chief/Deputy Chief Technicians and other senior Aseptic Services staff carrying out ordering, stock control, cleaning and monitoring of the aseptic facility.
You will also work in the support areas of the aseptic suite setting up product trays for products to be made and carrying out the compounding of aseptic products.
You will be required to communicate complex Information effectively verbally, in writing and where appropriate using electronic formats, with colleagues, customers and staff from other professions on Aseptic products and supervision related issues.
Concentration will be required for periods of two hours or longer, session ally, to observe and supervise product preparation and complete documents. Carry out self and in -process checks throughout the production process.

- NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services/BTEC in Pharmaceutical Sciences or equivalent
- Accuracy Checking Accredited
- Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council of Great Britain
- Minimum of 2 years experience post qualification with at least one working in a licensed manufacturing aseptic unit
- Pharmacy labelling and stock control systems
Desirable
- NVQ A1 workplace assessor
- BTEC Accuracy Checking Certificate in Technical Services
- Working with the JAC stock control system
- Have attended the Aseptic Preparation & Dispensing of Medicines (APDM) Course or equivalent
- Experience of working with high cost medication and dose banding of chemotherapy
