Main duties of the job

The Operating Theatres at The Royal Free London Trust - Chase Farm Hospital site is an exciting and interesting place to work.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, proactive , experienced recovery nurse , ready and willing to step up in taking role of leadership and management staff and caring and managing patient in post anaesthetic unit care.

Our facilities combined with the latest in technology and on-site support services enable our consultants to undertake a wide range of procedures from routine investigations to complex surgery.

The purpose of Recovery Room is to provide the optimal level of care for patients who had surgical intervention and immediately after anaesthetics.

The Recovery Room admits post-operative and post-general anaesthetic patients The department provides immediate post-operative and post-general anaesthetic services to various specialities Maxillo facial , ENT, General Surgery , Endoscopy and Orthopaedics.

Person Specification

Education/Prof.Qualifcations

Essential

• Registered Nurse/ODP
• Evidence of relevant further professional development
• Mentorship Course (e.g. ENB 998, D32 D33)

Experience

Essential

• Minimum 3 years recent recovery experience essential
• Able to provide care to postoperative patients from a wide range of specialities including paediatrics
• Experience of applying clinical reasoning skills to a range of complex and varied patient cases

Skills and Aptitudes

Essential

• Ability to demonstrate effective management, interpersonal, problem solving and decision making skills
• Ability to work within multidisciplinary team
• Evidence of up to date nursing practice
• Aware of developments within profession

Others

• Management skills - able to use own initiative

• Participate in internal rotation to night duty
