Hull University Teaching Hospitals are seeking to recruit 2 x WTE, Band 6 Senior Physiotherapists to join our diverse team of allied health professionals. The post holder will work gain experience working in a large busy Acute teaching Trust as part of our General Rotation.

The General Rotation currently covers the following rotation areas:

INPATIENTS: Medicine, Respiratory, Rapid Response (Admission Avoidance), Trauma Orthopaedics, Oncology, No Criteria to Reside Unit, Neurosurgery

OUTPATIENTS: MSK, Paediatrics, Day Surgery

COMMUNITY: Hull and East Riding Falls service

The post holders will work alongside colleagues to support the 7 day service in range of in and out patient areas plus community locations. As a Senior Physiotherapist you will deliver the assessment and treatment of patients who present within acute care, delivering evidence based interventions to facilitate recovery, promote well-being and optimise independent functioning as far as reasonably possible in all areas of life

We are seeking skilled people who have proven NHS/UK experience, can adapt to changing environment and work well in a team. You will be expected to be an active member of the multi-disciplinary team and build clinical networks working in partnership with other agencies to identify and address the immediate need.

Main duties of the job

This is a Senior Physiotherapist role will align with a range Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy teams in multidisciplinary ward teams to facilitate early discharge.

These are ideal posts for Band 5 Physiotherapists who have post-graduate experience and feel ready for the opportunity of the challenge of a senior position in a large, busy, acute hospital Trust. For the right candidate(s) we would consider Band 5 to 6 development roles.

The post holder will be self motivated and aspirational, be able to assess in an effective and timely manner in a rapid paced environment. Pathways will support early recognition of deterioration with appropriate escalation processes in place to maintain patient safety.

Support will be provided to enhance operational management skills and the post holder will contribute to service planning, development and teaching. As a Senior Physiotherapist, the post holder will be a role model for their team and pride themselves on delivering high quality care and motivate their team to do the same.

Being a driver, or having demonstrable means of independently travelling to patient's residences in the community, is essential in this post due to the community aspect of the rotation. The post holder will contribute to 7 day services, working patterns up to 8 pm in some teams, and contribute to the Respiratory On-call Service.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Recognised qualification in Physiotherapy i.e. degree
  • HPC Registration
  • Driver with access to vehicle OR demonstrable means of independently travelling to patient's residences in the community.


Desirable

  • Relevant post-graduate qualification or studies - i.e. PG Cert/Diploma/recognised relevant courses


Experience

Essential

  • Able to demonstrate a minimum of 12 months recent NHS experience
  • Evidence of clinical physiotherapy experience in acute hospital environment in the NHS/UK
  • Evidence of involvement in supporting other staff/students


Desirable

  • SLIP (supported learning in practice) trained


Skills and Knowledge

Essential

  • Demonstrable knowledge of NHS discharge systems and processes
  • Evidence of achievement of relevant B5 core physiotherapy competencies in current role


Desirable

  • Evidence of achievement of Respiratory/on-call competencies in current/recent role
