Based at Central Middlesex Hospital in Brent, the Elective Orthopaedic Centre will see over 4,000 Londoners a year for routine bone and joint surgery.

This exciting collaboration between the four acute healthcare providers in North West London consists of Chelsea and Westminster NHS Foundation Trust, Imperial Collage Healthcare NHS Trust, and The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Main duties of the job

Practice Development Nurse

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting and developing new starters in the clinical areas particularly the international nurses and the nursing associates in collaboration with the senior nurses and the Trusts clinical education team.

Working with cross site colleagues the post holder is also responsible for implementing specific in-house training, leading and participating in audits and research, and as part of the wider team lead on implementation of standards. protocols and pathways for patients and staff.

Skills, Attributes


  • Articulate with advanced written and verbal communication skills

Education /qualifications


  • RGN
  • Qualified Mentor/assessor
  • MA/MSC in health related topic


  • Post graduate certificate in Adult Education

Knowledge and Experience


  • Formal and informal teaching skills
  • experience in surgical nursing
  • experience in participating in audits both clinical and non-clinical


  • Understanding of process for nurses from non EEA countries to gain an NMC NMC registration
  • Orthopaedic experience
