We are looking for enthusiastic, dynamic and motivated Band 7 Physiotherapists to join the Stroke Team at Maidstone & Tunbridge Wells Trust. The Trust is delighted that the Maidstone Hospital has been chosen as one of the sites for a Hyper acute Stroke Unit in the Kent and Medway Sustainability Transformation in 2020/21, and the post holders will be integral to this exciting and transformative service. We are based in the heart of Kent and with easy links from London and the Kent coast.

Main duties of the job

An exciting opportunity has come up in a stroke 'Early Supported Discharge' team. This B7 role would be responsible for supervising a B4 therapy assistant and a rotational B6 neuro physiotherapist under the supervision of a band 8a clinical specialist.

This unique service works closely with an in-house team of stroke specific carers, O.Ts and SLTs to provide intensive rehabilitation to patients within their own home in the West Kent area. Referrals into the service are made from the local HASU/ASU and due to the nature of the service, the physiotherapists are able to pick up the patients within 48 hours of discharge from hospital. To optimise patient experience, there is the opportunity to in-reach into the acute service in order to provide a seamless transition of patient care on discharge from hospital and into the ESD service. SSNAP scores over the past year have seen the ESD physiotherapy service consistently scoring an 'A' grade.

The service would welcome an innovative and passionate neuro physiotherapist with a keen eye for quality improvement and evidence-based care.
