An exciting opportunity for a Deputy Associate Director of Operations has arisen in the surgical Clinical Business Unit (CBU) following the promotion of the existing post holder.

We are looking for a skilled and accomplished individual with the ability to drive our vision for further improvement. You will need excellent influencing and negotiation skills, a proven track record of working closely with clinical and non-clinical colleagues and experience of delivering to standards and deadlines.

The successful candidate will provide a range of support and will deputise for the Associate Director of Operations in addition to their core service portfolio, accountable to the Associate Director of Operations. This includes representing the CBU in the absence of the Associate Director of Operations at a range of forums, including Board Level committees and sub-committees inclusive of attendance with the same authority at a local and regional level.

Main duties of the job

Provide effective operational management, leadership, expertise, advice and support to the CBU to enable the delivery of CBU performance and business objectives. The role will work alongside matrons and the Deputy Associate Director of Nursing in ensuring that performance and business continues to deliver the highest quality of care to patients and their families to deliver National Targets.

Working with the Associate Director of Operations, Clinical Director and Associate Director of Nursing to ensure the safe, effective and efficient overall management, to provide capacity and demand information to plan and implement service delivery.

The post-holder will be responsible for ensuring that key business, quality, financial, service effectiveness and performance targets are maintained.

The role will be to support the operational and strategic aims of the CBU, developing and managing a culture of change which drives efficiency, effectiveness and improve patient outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Track record of undertaking and successfully completing change management


Experience

  • Significant operational management experience in a complex NHS setting
  • Experience of project management
  • Experience of delivery of business cases including benefits realisation at a board sub-committee level
