We are pleased to invite candidates to apply for Band 5 nursing role in the Surgical Day Unit at Lymington New Forest Hospital.An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a dynamic and friendly team on the Surgical Day Unit. The role will cover day shifts with the possible rotation to cover an occasional night shift. We currently operate from Monday to Friday and we are open from 07:00 hrs until 19:30 hrs.The successful candidates will have the opportunity to feedback their vision of how best to continually improve the service that we deliver for our patients.We are looking for a dynamic, motivated and enthusiastic individual, who is a team player, ready to embrace the challenge of working in a busy Day Surgical Unit. We require you to be forward thinking, as well as eager to develop your own clinical skills.Within this wide variable role you will be offered opportunities to develop both clinically and professionally within a supportive environment.

Job responsibilities

The ability to manage the ward and prioritise care.Act as a role model to fellow colleagues and support junior staff and learners in practice.Assess, plan and implement the safe provision of care to patients on the day surgical pathway.Undertake leadership tasks such as appraisals, student reports, supervise the development of the support workers.Demonstrate good organisational skills.NMC RegistrationOwn transport is desirable.
