Are you just starting your consultant journey or are you looking to make a difference in a new post?

We are gathering a team of special people with special powers to do special things.

We are looking for consultant psychiatrists to join other senior staff in developing our 0-25 Emotional Health and Wellbeing (EHWB) Service (renamed ‘Bee U’ by local young people). The Bee U EHWB service is a partnership between Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, The Children’s Society, Kooth and Healios – all working together in the interests of children and young people in Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin. The post holders will join a highly creative and skilled multi professional team who are committed to keeping our young service users and their carers at the very centre of everything we do.

Why Shropshire?

Shropshire is a truly beautiful county steeped in history. Home to charming market towns each with their own distinctive character - Market Drayton, Oswestry, Ludlow, Much Wenlock - and the county town of Shrewsbury, one of the finest Tudor towns in England. Shropshire has something for everyone and for all ages: award winning museums, renowned gardens, distinctive National Trust and English Heritage properties, rural attractions, industrial history including the World Heritage Site of Ironbridge, abbeys and churches, street markets, beautiful walks, cycleways, canals and countryside. Birmingham and it’s nearby airports are less than an hour away from Telford, Shropshire’s largest town. There are many excellent state and independent primary and secondary schools throughout the county. There is every style and location of housing available at affordable prices. Overall, this is a fabulous environment for a high quality of life.

We can offer you:
  • Flexible working including part time / job share / home working currently where possible
  • Enhanced Salary Package available – reference to opportunity to become Lead Role in Specialities relevant to the post
  • Relocation package and/or support with initial accommodation fees
  • Support with research or audit projects through our strong links with Keele University
  • Very strong peer group support within the consultant body
  • Future planned investment which will enable you to shape future of services and enable you to create your own legacy
  • Opportunity to influence practice of Junior Doctors and Medical Students through teaching and training

“MPFT is a wonderful place to work …… like a family. Access to senior management has never been an issue and support from Medical Staffing has been fantastic. Coming towards the end of my training in London, I was offered a job in the same Trust but decided to move to MPFT (formerly SSSFT) and didn't look back. Both Staffordshire and Shropshire are great places to raise your family with some of the best state schools in the country.....”
