We have an opportunity for a highly motivated Dietician to join our Haywood Hospital Therapies Portfolio. You will work within a dynamic NHS community setting within a well-established community hospital dieteticteam and would be suitable for a newly qualified dietitian or someone with an interest of working within this area.You will have a wide-ranging introduction to dietetics working closely with other professionals/agencies. We can offer the opportunity to build a portfolio of experience addressing a range of care / support issues across the spectrum of conditions supporting from hospital admission to discharge. This includes nutrition support, enteral feeding, diabetes, general dietetics, Stroke and Specialist Neurorehabilitation. You will participate in regular peer support meetings and 1:1 supervision to facilitate clinical excellence and personal development. We actively participate in clinical audit, student training and clinical service developments. You will have the opportunity to work with others in a transformative and innovative way with the autonomy to shape the future of our Dietetic service. We strive todevelop and implement high quality care pathways and MDT training plans. We contribute to building a culture of research and development, with strong links to our local community supported by an invested interest in improving the health and wellbeing of the population served.

Main duties of the job

To provide a clinical dietetic service as requested by the Lead Dietitian, providing advice on management, planning and development of dietetic treatment programmes to service users and health professionals.
  • Demonstrate at all times the Partnership Trust Values.
  • Be a Dietitian and have a professional and clinical knowledge of their discipline.
  • Assessing patient's nutritional status and requirements and giving dietary advice/recommendations including use of supplements and enteral feeding as required.
  • To participate in staff training and give lectures/talks to other groups as requested by the Lead Dietitian.
  • Provide training to students, ward and therapy staff as required
  • To produce or review diet sheets and nutritional resources as required, in line with current guidelines and evidence based practice.
  • To collect and input statistical information as required within agreed timescales.

To take accountability for allocated assessments, planning and implementation of dietary plans / programmes of support within their caseload

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • HCPC Registered
  • Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics or Equivalent (BSc, MNut, Msc etc)


Knowledge, Skills and Expereince

Essential

  • Excellent Communication Skills
  • Demonstrate awareness of appropriate professional conduct
  • Demonstrate knowledge of awareness of the roles of the MDT involved in patient care and ability to work as an effective team member
  • NHS experience through work or clinical placement


Desirable

  • Experience in Nutrition support
  • NHS experience
