An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Division of Unplanned Care for an enthusiastic and motivated Matron to join the Kingston and Richmond Virtual Ward which is a highly innovative service recently launched across Kingston Hospital NHSFT for our Kingston and Richmond patients.

Main duties of the job

The Virtual Ward will provide specialist led care for Cardio, Respiratory and Frailty patients in their own homes using an advanced personal remote monitoring platform, enabling them to safely leave hospital sooner or not come into hospital at all, but to still receive excellent Consultant led monitoring and treatment in the comfort of their own home. This important post will work alongside and be part of an extremely dynamic andsupportive team of Consultant Physicians and AHPs, Physiotherapists and Nurses in Respiratory Medicine, Heart Failure and Frailty.

Person Specification



  • Registered Nurse Adult
  • Leadership Course
  • Evidence of ongoing personal development


  • Non-medical prescribing



  • Extensive years recent experience in an acute service with several years at Band 7 level.
  • Able to demonstrate an in depth knowledge and experience in nursing quality and clinical audit/clinical governance


  • Prior experience or involvement with Virtual Ward or community services



  • UK Car Driver license with no restrictions
  • Working effectively as a member of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Signed off as competent in core nursing additional skills (phlebotomy, cannulation, urinary catheterisation etc)


  • Experience and involvement in clinical audit and research
