Are you an experienced mental health practitioner who is committed to providing outstanding patient care with a passion for working with Children and Young people with complex Mental Health needs?

Then we need you.

We are looking for a specialist mental health practitioner, who is registered with either the HCPC, Social Work England or NMC. We are wanting to recruit a band 7 practitioner who has significant experience, skills and knowledge of working with children in mental health distress.

Following extensive investment as part of National and Local Sustainability and Transformation planning, the CAMHS Intensive support team are expanding and transforming our current Intensive Outreach Team to develop a robust flexible Intensive Support Team, offering Community based Mental Health Intensive Support for our Children & Young People (CYP) and families in South Staffordshire within their localities; with additional investment for the future to offer the addition of Crisis response and brief intervention, to create a full Crisis Response and Intensive Support Service.

In MPFT Children and Families Mental Health Function, we work with young people who have a wide range of needs in an inclusive way. Our model places our CYP’s needs at the heart of what we offerto ensure that they are getting the best care possible. The Intensive Support Team offers: support and intervention for young people with high risk and complex mental health needs in an intensive time bound way. We recognise the CYP’s home or community environment as being an important part of their recovery, working to sustain the right community support, avoiding admission to hospital wherever possible.

What our CYP and families have said about us so far:

“I thought the service I received was great and I really appreciate the support as I’ve come so far since this service got involved

“They listened well and helped me realise it’s okay not to be okay”

“The fact they listened to me and supported methrough my hardest time and stayed involvedevery step of the way”

“Extra support and regular appointments”

“The flexibility to increase/decrease care as necessary”

“They listened to me and were patient with me when I found it difficult to talk”

The extensive expansion of the team, where you will be a senior clinical team member in a Nurse Consultant led team, is an exciting opportunity, developing and shaping the future of Children & Adolescent Mental Health

This is a diverse role. We are looking for professionals with a passion for working with our Children & Families, you will have the opportunity to expand your skill set and have the opportunity to integrate with our core services, offering learning and development opportunities such as shadowing and specialist supervision and consultation from others working with CYP & Families

Whilst the team will offer support to CYP and families 8am-10pm weekdays and 9am-5pm weekends and bank holidays (these hours are likely to be expanded in the future offer to 8am to 10pm at weekends and bank holiday), this role is 37.5 hour per week and you will be required to cover a rota 8am – 10pm on a shift basis including weekend work. There is scope for some flexibility in working hours

We are therefore looking for full time and part time staff and can offer flexibility in working days/ hours to meet the needs of the service as well as offering greater work life balance for staff.

We want our children, young people and families to have the best practitioners possible to support their needs in the right place at the right time; as such we will consider offering relocation packages where appropriate

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Mental Health practitioner to impart their specialist skills and knowledge and to be integral in the leadership and development of the service, to offer our CYP and families the best service possible. This role will be influential for team service delivery and sharing of skills and knowledge along with all the other specialist areas we are looking to recruit
