There is currently an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Physiotherapist to join the vascular and amputee rehabilitation team at The James Cook University Hospital as part of an expanding service. Excellent communication and organisational skills, enthusiasm, commitment and ability to negotiate across a wide range of services are also vital in this post.

It is essential that the post holder can demonstrate varied post graduate experience and experience of working with vascular and amputee rehabilitation is desirable. The team is friendly and supportive and there will be the opportunity to develop more advanced clinical, leadership and service development skills, as our staff are encouraged and supported in their continual professional development and through regular clinical supervision.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work within the vascular and amputee rehabilitation team based at The James Cook University Hospital. You will work within an integrated team offering specialist physiotherapy assessment, intervention and rehabilitation, providing advice where needed to other professionals regarding the management of vascular conditions and amputee patients.

You will need to be able to work as part of a team and on your own, frequently using your own initiative. The role will require being involved with clients with a range of multiple medical, social and emotional problems, as well as home visits, discharge planning, rehabilitation and education. The ability to travel independently is an essential part of this post.

The vascular and amputee rehabilitation team currently provides a 5 day service based at The James Cook University Hospital.

Experience

Essential

  • Experience of working with patients with vascular conditions


Desirable

  • Experience of managing patients with respiratory conditions
  • Clinical experience of a rehabilitation ward, surgical and respiratory care, acute trauma


Skills, Knowledge & Aptitude

Essential

  • Experience of working as Band 5 in the NHS
  • Demonstrates advanced clinical reasoning skills
  • Evidence of audit and research
  • Evidence of MDT working
  • Good understanding of the structure, policies, priorities and format of the NHS


Desirable

  • Theoretical knowledge and applied clinical practice in a broad range of Vascular/Amputee areas.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of physiotherapy within the management of respiratory patients.


Qualifications & Training

Essential

  • BSc or Diploma in appropriate profession
  • HCPC registration
