We are looking for a versatile, enthusiastic individual to work within the existing Acute Pathway team, to help provide outstanding care to our service users and patients as they are at the centre of everything we do.
Please note that GMC registration (with a licence to practice) and right to work in the UK are essential for this role. Successful applicants will already have GMC registration or will be able to demonstrate they are eligible. ABOUT THE TEAM
The Acute Care Pathway team is an established team of two Consultant Psychiatrists, one part time Specialty Doctor, one Core Trainee Doctor and a FY2 doctor who are committed in providing outstanding care to the service users. You will also get the opportunity to work within the AMHT team which is a multidisciplinary team which consists of Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Medical and Psychology professional groups who are supported by health care support workers and a number of clerical and ancillary staff.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
You will attend ward rounds, in addition to CPA and professionals meetings. You will be involved in patients’ review, providing the initial management plan. This will involve assessment, organizing investigations and treatment planning for patients with a range of illnesses, and planning toward discharge. You will be expected to familiarise yourself with the local arrangements for, requesting investigations as well as the plans for recording of medical notes and communicating with GP’s and other community staff.
Mental Health Act work is an important part of this role and you will be involved in writing tribunal reports and presenting evidence to the tribunal panel. There will be active opportunities to be involved in Mental Health Act Assessments if you don’t hold Section 12 approval, we will be able to support you in gaining this. This work will be done under the supervision of the ward consultant.
The Acute Mental Health Team part of the role will include working flexibly with the team to screen referrals for medical reviews, attending initial psychiatric assessments and follow up reviews of patients as well as supporting discharges from the inpatient unit. You will be supported in this role by the West Acute Mental Health Team consultants
