An exciting full time position is available for trainees in Gynaecology to join the academic team at Gynaecology/Gynaecological Oncology, City Hospital under supervision of Mr Ayman Ewies and Mr Janos Balega. The candidate will be supported to gain high quality research skills and publish good outputs in a fully funded, ethics approved research project. In addition, the candidate will be supported to apply for a higher research degree if making good academic progress.
The post is for 12 months starting asap, extendable to 24 months for suitable candidate.
This is not a Deanery/Health Education England funded training post and the post does not come with an NTN.
Main duties of the job
This is an exciting Clinical Research fellow position in Gynaecology/Gynaecological Oncology in relation to optimizing the diagnosis and management of endometrial cancer.
Main responsibilities
1-Collaboration with colleagues in the Black Country and West Midlands to build scientific partnership between the different teams.
2- Creation of a database for women with endometrial hyperplasia in Greater Birmingham (Black Country ICB and Birmingham and Solihull ICB) by accessing pathology and clinical databases in various hospitals.
3-Co-ordinating the studies on multiple sites recruitment and data collection.
4-Ensuring uniform collection and collation of data.
5- Analyse and interpret data
6- Communicate with supervisors and collaborators including academic and non- academic partners involved in the research
7-Undertake management/administration arising from research
The successful candidate will be based at City Hospital but expected to coordinate collection of data from West Midlands and Black Country Centres. The successful candidate will be supported to apply for an Honorary contract with the University of Birmingham.
