You will be a highly skilled and experienced therapeutic radiographer working with the radiotherapy management team to ensure that the training, education, and professional development needs of pre registration learners are met, to ensure safe and effective patient care and practice. Working collaboratively with the University to ensure we provide a quality experience for learners that reflects the Curriculum.
You will support the Preceptorship programme in partnership with the post registration practice educator and other staff to enable our preceptees to make a smooth transition from student to practitioner.
Contribute to the development of the student programme with the university, support the continuing education and development of the Therapeutic Radiographic professionals at Weston Park Cancer Centre, Clinical educators and mentors ensuring the quality of pre-registration placements and learning.
Develop support processes and assessment criteria in all aspects of training to assure consistent standards across the service. Design, develop and deliver in-house training programmes and provide coaching and mentorship for learners to support them achieving their potential.
Participate in professional development activity and planning with HEIs. Assess the development needs for individuals, identifying innovative approaches to facilitate achievement. Managing and evidencing training, assessment, and achievement.

Main duties of the job
- Provision of and output from the Pre-Registration Radiotherapy Training Programmes at WPCC. To co-ordinate, develop and deliver the Programme.
- Support Assessors and Supervisors in their roles and provide appropriate training and updates.
- Create Standard Operating Policies (SOPs), for delivering, attaining, and evidencing clinical education in the radiotherapy department
- Service evaluation and audit to ensure the effectiveness of the development programmes for pre-registration Therapeutic Radiography education and identify the service improvements required and implement them using established service improvement tools and theory.
- Required to maintain clinical competency.
- Work with the management team to identify learning needs and provide a link with the HEI.
- Contribute to and support University Recruitment Fairs
- Attend meetings with our stakeholders and partners to ensure we are fully engaged and included to drive forward change and innovation.
- Work in partnership with NHS England to audit, monitor and quality assure our placements.
- Co-ordinate, recruit to and support, the undergraduate and apprenticeship programmes.
- Work in partnership with other Allied Health Professional colleagues, to share knowledge and experience of Student programmes and placement allocation.
- Work collaboratively to promote a culture that accepts change, embraces development and recognises the value of reflection and ability to challenge practice delivered by self and others.
