We are embarking on one of the biggest transformation programmes our Trust has ever seen. Our Electronic Health Record (EHR) will enhance the work of nearly everyone in the Trust, and also the experience of anyone who access our services receives.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced people business partner to operate as a people expert within our Alex Health implementation team, being responsible for the provision of high quality strategic and operational workforce support to ensure best practice people management.

This role is fundamental as it is key to the transformational-change required to achieve the benefits of our organisation's digital transformation.

Main duties of the job

Working closely with the Alex Health senior management team and other key managers and individuals, you will lead on all aspects associated with the forward planning, modernisation, engagement, motivation and performance of our people. In addition, you will embed excellent people management practice and standards ensuring increased people management capability within the Trust.

The role is critical in supporting the delivery of the Trust's digital strategy and the strategic priorities in PAHT2030, a new EHR is also critical to our readiness for our new hospital.

You'll be working across the organisational boundaries, influencing decisions where appropriate, negotiating areas of improvement, seeking agreement and co-operation but always managing user expectations to ensure that they are aligned to the available resources.

Person Specification



  • Master's degree or demonstrable equivalent experience working within Human Resources.
  • Evidence of CPD demonstrating regular attendance on employment law updates courses and employee relations


  • Full Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development.



  • Significant experience in an operational generalist role, covering a wide range of HR responsibilities to include recruitment, discipline, grievance, organisational change and re-structuring, redundancy and changing terms and conditions of employment and TUPE.
  • Experience in planning, developing, delivering and evaluating in-house training, workshops and briefing sessions
  • Experience of working for a large complex organisation and in a changing environment.
