We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Research administrative and data Manager to join the Research and Innovation Directorate at University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust. We are seeking an experienced professional with a background in research operations and management to manage all business processes linked to data governance and administration of all UHNM studies. Ensuring safety of our participants is our top priority. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a large multidisciplinary directorate.

The Directorate is looking for a dynamic and pro-active manager, with experience of leading a team with shared goals. This role will provide first line management to the Research Delivery Administration Team and a senior member of the Research Governance and Assurance Team.

Main duties of the job

The manager will work alongside the Clinical Research Matron and the Lead Research Practitioners in monitoring and assessing the administrative support and data management required to support the research workforce, to ensure that all speciality areas studies can be delivered in the most effective and proficient way.

The Research administrative and data Manager will help develop and implement business support plans with the directorate management team and clinical staff to ensure the achievement of UHNM's strategic objectives and other local and national clinical and non-clinical targets. This post will help support senior leaders to successfully manage and grow the Trust's research portfolio through a patient centred approach.

The post holder will work with various stakeholders both clinical and non-clinical ensuring data governance is of high quality through supportive transparent processes, providing operational management to support to the delivery of clinical trials in all UHNM settings.

This is a 12-month fixed term post. Secondments, job-share and part-time requests will be considered.

Essential Qualifications

Essential

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent relevant experience at a senior level in a complex organisation.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development.
  • Strong Information Management Systems experience


Desirable

  • Research or clinical training qualification.


Knowledge, Skills, Training and Experience

Essential

  • Evidence of leadership and accountability for performance management.
  • Experience of working in a research clinical environment
  • Evidence of managing and multi-disciplinary staff, including training needs, appraisals, sickness and absence, disciplinary matters.
  • Experience in providing and receiving highly complex, confidential and sensitive information
  • Knowledge and experience of assisting in strategic planning Managing a large and complex research team
  • Ability to critically analyse complex information and evaluate a range of options to identify service improvements


Desirable

  • Knowledge and experience in understanding research protocols and study requirements.
