We have an exciting opportunity for a Principal Psychodynamic Psychotherapist to join the Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust Eating Disorders Service.

The post holder will be part of a forward thinking, recovery focused multi-disciplinary team and will work alongside other senior colleagues to deliver and develop treatment pathways for people with eating disorders. Alongside working with external stakeholders to ensure the service develops in line with national guidance, the role will also involve taking a lead on the delivery of evidence-based psychological therapy for eating disorders, with a focus on psychodynamic psychotherapy. The role will also involve drawing on psychological models to understand and work with systemic/group dynamics within and between teams. The post holder will also be involved in the recruitment, management, training and supervision of trainee therapists.

You will join a supportive team of clinicians, committed to delivering high quality, needs led care that promotes recovery. Within the service we offer a range of evidence-based interventions, including CBT-ED, DBT, MANTRA, SSCM and psychodynamic psychotherapy. We also work closely with families and carers, and you will have the opportunity to be involved in taking this work forward. You will also work closely with our Physical Health Monitoring team.

Applicants should be qualified in a core profession, and/or hold accreditation with an appropriate psychotherapy organisation. Informal enquiries and visits are encouraged.

For an informal discussion please contact Dr Hannah Turner, Consultant Lead Clinical Psychologist on 023 8081 9000.
