As a Specialist Nurse working within the Primary Care Mental Health Network (PCMHN) in Beverley you will be instrumental in promoting and delivering evidence-based care for service users with mental health conditions within primary care.
Main duties of the job
You will use your nursing skills to actively promote recovery to enable our service users to move towards independence and regain control over their lives.
You will use your values, skills, and knowledge to influence the work of the team, to help with integration into GP surgeries and provide support to our valued GP partners. You will be central in the process of closing the gap between primary and secondary care services through liaison, advice and collaboration.
There is an expectation that you will lead, supervise, and provide mentorship to junior staff as the team has a strong belief in supporting and encouraging individual and team development.
Independently carry out assessments, care planning and case manage with excellent interpersonal skills, ability to listen to others' views, respect and value individuals from a diverse range of backgrounds from a recovery focused model with a strong focus on service user empowerment.
Support appropriate risk assessment and management of risk within a primary care setting which promotes safety and appropriate positive risk taking within an agreed individualised plan of care.
Applicants must demonstrate comfort with agile working and possess skills with self motivation.
The post holder will be managed by and receive clinical and professional supervision from the Clinical Lead.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential
- Part III or 13 of NMC live register
- Post registration/graduate diploma or equivalent experience in related work area, to demonstrate advanced level of practice
- Demonstrable experience of mentoring preregistration students
- Prepared to undertake or hold a recognised nonmedical prescribing qualification, if required
- Evidence of CPD or experiential learning at an advanced level
- Leadership training/qualification/experience
- Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD) relevant to the clinical area at specialist level of care
- Evidence of development of specialist practice nursing skills and able to demonstrate the impact of this on practice change/development
- Evidence of promoting/supporting active user/carer involvement/participation
- Demonstrable experience of working in community mental health setting
- Leadership / management / supervisory experience

- Ability to commute between the various sites
- Demonstrate mandatory training and attendance for the management of violence and aggression
- Requirement for frequent concentration e.g. assessments, care plans. The work may be unpredictable
- Frequent exposure to emotional or distressing circumstances
