Join our dynamic team as a Clinical Skills Facilitator in the Education, Culture, and Organisation Development (ECOD) Department! This exciting role is for a passionate nurse eager to contribute to the growth and excellence of Cardiff and Vale UHB nursing workforce.

As a Clinical Skills Facilitator, you will play a pivotal role in delivering the OSCE programme, preparing our internationally educated nurses (IEN) for Part 2 of the NMC registration process additionally supporting the wider agenda of nursing development including assistant practitioners. Your enthusiasm for clinical education will drive the development of hands-on skills and critical thinking among our nursing staff. Collaborating with the ECOD team, you will contribute to creating a positive and supportive learning environment.

Responsibilities include implementing engaging training programs, working alongside our IEN within clinical practice to support development. You will assess and enhance clinical competencies through simulations, workshops, and interactive sessions, fostering a culture of continuous learning.

Your professionalism will be evident in your ability to mentor, inspire, and empower nurses to excel in their practice. In this role, you will contribute to the overall organisational development by aligning education and development with the highest standards of patient care.

Main duties of the job

As a Clinical Skills Facilitator within ECOD, you will contribute to providing training through a number of clinical skills workshops. Your role extends beyond the classroom as you deliver targeted training to internationally educated nurses, preparing them for NMC OSCE programme. Additionally, you will be able to evaluate the programs provided to ensure ongoing refinement and adherence to best practices and feedback from candidates.

You will work alongside nurses in clinical practice settings, you will offer on-the-job support, fostering skill development and elevating the standard of patient care. You will have the opportunity to support the development of our internationally educated nurses, assistant practitioners and wider nursing workforce.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to provide support and guidance to practice assessors, ward sisters/charge nurses integrating new staff into the clinical environment.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
