We are recruiting for a Specialist Renal Dietitian who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.
Based at the Lister Hospital Stevenage, but covering the dialysis units across Herts, Beds and West Essex, the successful post holder will work within an experienced, supportive, and dynamic multidisciplinary team.
We encourage candidates aspiring to advance from a Band 5 to Band 6 to apply. We provide a comprehensive progression plan tailored for individuals at the Band 5 level.
There will be significant input to the management of undernutrition, including enteral and parenteral nutrition, and the opportunity to liaise with a range of health care providers across a large geographical area.
Though previous experience of working with adults with kidney disease is desirable, the successful applicant will receive training and development, supported by a structured process of regular management and clinical supervision. Though this post is offered on a full time basis, those seeking part time hours, or job share will also be considered.

Main duties of the job
As an autonomous practitioner, working closely with members of our multidisciplinary team, will provide a clinical nutrition & dietetic service to adults presenting with acute and chronic kidney disease.
The Specialist Renal Dietitian will demonstrate sound problem solving skills where there is considerable variation in the presentation and health needs of service users. You will gain significant clinical experience in the management of adults presenting with multiple co-morbidities, and those requiring nutritional support.
The post holder will provide training and development to members of the multi-professional team contribute to the review, development and implementation of the service undertake practice supervision of students, and develop, implement and review evidence based nutrition and dietetic resources.

- BSc Nutrition & Dietetics/Post graduate Diploma in Dietetics and UK Registered Dietitian with Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
- Continuous professional development that includes post graduate study/development (short course, e learning) within one or more specialist clinical areas (for example nutritional support, diabetes) that meets the needs of the service user
Knowledge and experience
Essential
- Broad range of post qualification clinical experience that includes adults with long term conditions, general medicine, gastroenterology, and general surgery
- Post qualification dietetic experience of working with adults requiring nutritional support (enteral nutrition) inpatients and outpatients
- Post qualification dietetic experience of working with adults with acute and chronic kidney disease
- Participated in audit or research linked to practice improvement
- Can demonstrate evidence of delivery of education and training of groups/individuals
