Deputy Director of Estates/Newham Capital Programme Manager - Band 9
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated member of staff to fill our newly created post of Deputy Director of Estates.
This position is vital to ensure that we continue to provide high levels of service to our patients and staff whilst managing the capital funded projects on the Newham University Hospital site.
Working closely with the Group Director of EFM, the Group Deputy Director EFM Capital Programme PFI and Retained Estates & MES and the Newham University Hospital (NUH) Hospital Executive Board (HEB), the Deputy Director of Estates will play a substantial contribution in ensuring that the corporate objectives of the Trust and Newham Hospital are achieved with specific focus on the delivery of suitable, safe and secure premises and equipment.
This role sits within the Trust Group Support Services and the post holder will deputise for the Group Deputy Director EFM Capital Programme PFI and Retained Estates & MES when required.

Main duties of the job
As the Deputy Director of Estates, the post holder will deputise for the Group Deputy Director EFM Capital Programme PFI and Retained Estates & MES. Working closely with the other senior Trust clinical managers, heads of EFM Group Services, engineering staff, craft staff and construction professionals, clinicians, senior managers, along with statutory bodies and external agencies.
The post holder will be professionally responsible and accountable for the standard, delivery, continual monitoring, risk management and review of the Newham University Hospital capital programme delivery to ensure a professional, high quality, cost effective and efficient service to meet the demands of the organisation, its staff and patients. The post holder will also play a significant role in contributing to the delivery of the Trust capital programme at a strategic level and occasionally at a project level for larger schemes or where more junior project managers need support
