The post holder will be based within the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) Clinical Research Facility (CRF) at the Royal Free Hospital in Hampstead. The CRF provides a designated facility for researchers to conduct clinical research studies involving both patient and healthy volunteers. The Clinical Research Practitioner (CRP) will work collaboratively with members of the multidisciplinary team to support the safe and efficient delivery of clinical research studies within the CRF.

Main duties of the job

The post-holder will support the assessment and management of the research pathway for patients/participants taking part in clinical research studies. This will involve the recruitment, education and monitoring of patients/participants and the collection and documentation of accurate data. You will work with the CRF team and the wider multi-disciplinary team(s) in the management of clinical research patients/participants.

You should have excellent communication skills, together with the ability to organise and motivate others as well as demonstrating significant initiative. The role involves knowledge of clinical research protocols and their application in clinical practice, alongside a working knowledge and compliance with local, national and international research regulations.

The post holder will be expected to work flexibly including some unsocial hours to meet study protocol requirements and safe staffing levels within the CRF.

THE ROYAL FREE LONDON CLINICAL RESEARCH FACILITY (RFL CRF)

The CRF is located on the second floor of the Royal Free Hospital in Hampstead in North London.

The CRF is a purpose-built facility where investigators can deliver early-phase, complex and high-risk experimental medicine studies in healthy adults or those with acute, complex, and long-term conditions. These studies range from First in Human (FIH) to late-phase trials with an experimental medicine component that requires specialist facilities or support.
