Junior Sister/Charge Nurse - Neonatal Unit

Are you an experienced Neonatal Nurse looking for a new challenge and/or career progression?

You will need to be highly motivated, with a passion for Neonatal care. You will have excellent communication skills and be able to demonstrate an understanding of the needs of babies, children and their families.

As a Neonatal team we are committed to recruiting staff who uphold our values, who can deliver excellent care putting babies at the heart of everything we do, with an emphasis on working in partnership with families to provide the best possible experience and outcomes.

We will consider part time hours for the right candidate.

Main duties of the job

  • To effectively manage and develop the nursing team within the Neonatal Unit, providing professional and clinical leadership in the delivery of high quality, safe and cost effective care of babies and their families
  • To work across areas where neonates / children are cared for to develop and enhance clinical skills and practice.
  • To deputize for the unit manager to ensure appropriate senior cover at all times.

Person Specification



  • RN / RM/ RN Child
  • ENB 405/Neonatal Nursing Specialist Qualification.
  • BSc Nursing / First degree
  • Mentorship qualification / equivalent teaching qualification
  • NLS certificate



  • Experience as shift leader at Band 5/6
  • Clinical expertise within specialty
  • Evidence of managing and improving the patient experience
