Advertisement for Consultant Otolaryngologists

We are building a new service at North Manchester General Hospital to integrate into the ENT services across MFT. This will be a Monday to Friday service for adults and children, covering elective and emergency services. This will consist of 4 consultant posts and a Junior team. These posts will be cross-site in order to provide subspeciality oversight and support.

We are looking for the following individuals (the post holders will also be part of the dedicated out of hours oncall service):

(1) A Paediatric fellowship trained individual who will help lead the delivery of the paediatric service with a sub specialist interest which compliments into the requirements of the RMCH ENT department.

(2) A H& N fellowship trained individual who will help deliver the H& N Cancer service .

(3) An Otology trained individual who will help deliver the Otology and general, paediatric service.

(4) A Rhinology trained individual who will help deliver the Rhinology and general service.

The post holders will join a team of ENT surgeons across MRI, RMCH, Wythenshawe and Trafford hospitals who provide a range of subspecialty services including otology, rhinology, paediatric, laryngology and head & neck cancer surgery.

A core member of the ENT surgical service within the Head and Neck Clinical Service Unit:

Person Specification

Qualifications & Training


  • Completion of higher training (CCT or within 6 months of obtaining)


  • Postgraduate higher degree
  • Post CCT fellowship

Teaching and Audit


  • Teaching of medical students
  • Experience of Audit
  • Teaching of junior medical staff
  • Ability and experience to teach clinical skills
  • Experience of supervising SpR's
