Staffordshire Intensive Life Skills Pathway

The Intensive Life Skills Pathway is a multi-disciplinary mental health team providing assessment and intervention for adults predominantly falling within Care Cluster 8 across East and West Staffordshire as part of the Adult Mental Health Service. Services are provided from a number of Trust locations across Staffordshire and therefore the successful candidate will be expected to work from multiple sites. The ability to work from home may be required.

The team works in a highly psychologically-minded way and is passionate about working with service-users who present with high levels of emotional distress, high risk to self and others, and who often have histories of complex trauma and/or adverse experiences. Applicants should have an interest in working with this client group, and an awareness of relevant evidence based interventions.

The pathway utilises Structured Clinical Management (SCM) as a core therapeutic model, combining individual and workshop based interventions. A range of additional therapeutic models are utilised including attachment theory, behavioural theory, Compassion-Focussed Therapy, EMDR, Trauma-Focussed Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Mentalisation-Based Treatment, and DBT informed interventions.

The successful candidate will be expected to undertake holistic comprehensive assessments and formulation of complex clinical presentations, including risk assessments and risk management.

The role will involve delivering group based and individual interventions in line with the pathway model and utilising Structured Clinical Management (SCM). There will be a requirement to undertake the role of care co ordinator.

Some individual and group based interventions are being delivered remotely, and the successful candidate will therefore have strong ICT skills and be able to communicate effectively with others through technology.

There will be a requirement to participate in both delivering and receiving a range of supervisions within the pathway.

For further information please contact Emily-Grace Church, Pathway Manager on 07973892478 or via Trust e mail.
