Job Title: Inpatient Team Lead Occupational Therapy
Salary band: Band 7,
Hours: 1.0wte. although we will explore Part time options.
Location: Petersfield Community Hospital
As a community trust we value the importance on the role of therapy in the management of our complex and diverse patient group. A key part of this is having dynamic and skilled therapy leaders who have the vision and ability to deliver care in line with local and national priorities. Through Investment in community Therapy services we have been able to expand our Therapy Leadership within our community and inpatient therapy services.
We are seeking to appoint a senior Occupational Therapist to lead the inpatient rehabilitation Occupational Therapy team based at Petersfield Community Hospital.
You will clinically lead and manage a team of Occupational Therapists offering a rehabilitation service to patients with a range of functional and rehabilitative needs, inc. neurological, orthopaedic, medical, palliative and frailty. Working closely with the Physiotherapy team Lead you will deliver a joined up therapy service that embraces our shared skills. As Occupational therapy lead you will work alongside multidisciplinary team to the deliver high quality care and rehabilitation to patients from acute or community step up. Your Relationships with community therapy teams will be important in order to support the flow of patients between inpatient and community rehabilitation.
The service currently operates between Monday to Friday. However, this may be reviewed in the future to extend the functions of the team to a 7day service.
You will be a highly motivated individual with excellent communication skills. You will need to be confident and assertive with excellent personal skills and have the ability to demonstrate these in a pressurised environment.
You will have a clear understanding of patients with long term conditions and should be able to demonstrate a high level of clinical assessment and reasoning. Being able to demonstrate experience of providing rehabilitation is important in being able to demonstrate that you are able to provide rehabilitation care to patients using different rehabilitation medium including group work and individual rehabilitation programmes.
You will be Educated to Degree or Diploma level in Occupational Therapy and hold HCPC registration. Ideally the successful applicant will be proficient using IT systems.
We will consider staff looking for part time or job share opportunities. Access to a vehicle and possession of a full driving license is essential.

Excellent CPD opportunities, including structured supervision peer support groups and appraisal systems are in place. You will be take part in supervision and appraisals of staff and students within the Occupational Therapy team.
