We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated Registered Nurses / Level 1 to compliment our nurse sonographer service based within our busy and friendly Gynaecology Unit.
The Gynaecology Unit comprises of inpatient and outpatient services relating to gynaecology, oncology, early pregnancy assessment including an abortion service, emergency admissions and fertility services.
The successful applicant(s) will be based within the Gynaecology Unit and will work primarily within the early pregnancy assessment services and abortion service based within the Royal Hallamshire Hospital.
A commitment to individualised patient care, evidence-based practice, teaching and health promotion is essential.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will have significant experience in gynaecology in areas such as early pregnancy assessment, abortion care, fertility services and sexual health and completed the MA Post-graduate Certificate in Medical Ultrasound (Focused Scope First Trimester).
Evidence of continuing education and professional development within the relevant speciality is essential alongside a recognised teaching qualification and have a health care related degree or evidence of working towards.
Willingness to work across all services and in the abortion service is essential.
They will need to show evidence of the ability to prioritise and to work as a member of a team.
They should have excellent communication and leadership skills.
Deliver high quality patient care, acting as a role model for nursing practice across the Specialist and Trust
Provide clinical nursing advice, education, and leadership within the specialty.
Act as a source of expertise, advice and knowledge for patients, carers, and healthcare professionals.
Assist in the preparation, implementation and updating of policies, procedures, and information. leaflets relating early pregnancy to standards and guidance.
Work within the multi-disciplinary team in the provision of optimal care throughout all aspects of the patients care pathway and in all clinical settings.
