Senior Nuclear Medicine Radiographer /Clinical Technologist Band 6 (22.5 hours a week)

You will have to work in both GRH and CGH

To undertake the fully comprehensive range of diagnostic imaging procedures carried out in Nuclear Medicine across both sites at Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, to take part in the Radiopharmacy dispensing rota and to carry out pharmacological stressing on myocardial perfusion patients. This position is a job share with an existing member of staff.

Main duties of the job

- Safe and efficient use of expensive and complex technical equipment to the value of hundreds of thousands of pounds

- Support the Band 7 in managing the imaging team.

- Participate in the Radiopharmacy dispensing rota.

- The post holder will have the responsibility of the Radiation Protection Supervisor and will be designated as a Classified Worker as defined by Ionising Radiations Regulation 2017.

- The post holder will be identified as an Operator under IR(ME)R 2017

Person Specification



  • BSc Radiography or equivalent
  • HCPC registration


  • Postgraduate qualification in relevant field
  • Have a level 3 teaching and assessing qualification or equivalent.
  • Have attended an appropriate communication / counselling course



  • Appropriate clinical experience post qualification

Knowledge / Skills


  • Able to work under own initiative to a high level with responsibility and commitment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, and ability to manage staff effectively and motivate teams
  • Possess developed judgement and decision-making skills and be reflective in thinking and outlook
  • Exhibit excellent day to day multidisciplinary team working & leadership skills
