We are delighted to be recruiting a full time permanent Highly Specialist Dietitian to our Nutrition and Dietetic Service, into this new and innovative role.
In this role you will be providing a service to the new multidisciplinary run Hepatology screening project by outreaching into Gloucestershire's Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) aimed at identifying and treating those at risk or experiencing fatty liver disease. This role gives you an exciting opportunity to utilise and further develop your existing experiences of project management, clinical skills and knowledge
This Band 7 Highly Specialist Dietetic position is a role for an approachable, enthusiastic and motivated Dietitian who has a strong interest in project management, developing services and driving change. You may have worked in a wide range of clinical areas and settings including weight management, hyperlipidaemia, diabetes and hepatology. You should have a passion for patient care and quality improvement and a desire to further develop their Dietetic practice.
We have a flexible working policy in our Trust. You will be based at Gloucester Royal Hospitals out reaching to the CDC but work also from Cheltenham General Hospital as required. You will be involved, and participate in regular updates and department wide meetings
Main duties of the job
You will be working as part of the Nutrition and Dietetic Department in delivering innovative nutritional interventions to support adult patients with fatty liver disease to reduce severity of this condition and the need for referral to secondary care for treatments. This will involve a scoping of current resources, identifying unmet clinical nutritional patients' needs, designing and developing group and individual patient pathways in delivering nutritional care.
This role will provide interventions for obesity, diabetes, metabolic syndrome and altered liver function. This care will be on the form of 1:1 or group sessions both virtually and face to face. It will involve working closely with our Primary care, Integrated Care Board (ICB), Hepatology colleagues and Healthy Lifestyle programmes along with Dietetic peers in existing Diabetes, Specialist Weight Management and Eating disorder services. You will be collecting and analysing data, reporting back on these nutritional interventions and outcomes to the ICB, the liver screening steering group for this initiative and Dietetic Service Leads in evidencing the delivery of these high quality, safe and effective nutritional care initiatives.
About us
The Nutrition and Dietetic service consists of a large, friendly Department who will provide you with support in your role. We work closely with Specialist Clinical teams in our Trust and the ICB to deliver high quality, safe and effective care for our patients.
