Are you an early career Occupational Therapist (OT) looking to expand your experience? Or are you about to graduate and looking for your first OT role?

We're looking for passionate, caring OTs to join our Combined Acute and Community Care Therapy Services department, where you'll have the opportunity to rotate between clinical areas and gain a wide variety of skills and experience working with different patients.

The Therapy Services department provides integrated Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy to patients referred to us from across Sheffield, South Yorkshire and beyond.

Day-to-day, you'll work in a multidisciplinary team to provide personalised OT assessment, care, advice, and interventions to make a difference to patients, and help them adapt to day-to-day tasks and improve their quality of life.

Main duties of the job

You'll have the chance to complete 6 monthly rotations across a variety of different clinical areas across both acute and community care settings, including neurology, orthopaedics, medicine, surgery and community teams making this a fantastic opportunity to develop in your OT career and increase your clinical experience and confidence.

With the Trust providing multiple specialist and regional services, we're a fantastic place to develop your OT career. Examples include regional neurosurgery, spinal injuries, haematology, cancer and infectious diseases departments.

To apply, you'll need to hold or be due to gain an appropriate Occupational Therapy qualification (BSc/Diploma in Occupational Therapy or equivalent) and be registered with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC).

Qualifications

Essential

  • BsC/Diploma in Occupational Therapy
  • HCPC registration or working towards


Experience

Essential

  • Student fieldwork experience relevant to the rotations offered by the Trust


Desirable

  • Work or life experience in healthcare or teaching practical skills
  • Work or life experience in organising and managing multiple tasks
  • Clinical Governance or Health & Safety


Further Training

Essential

  • Evidence of continuous personal & professional development
  • Good basic knowledge of therapy practice for medicine, orthopaedics, neurology

  • Evidence-Based Practice
