An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Conquest Estates department at East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust as an Mechanical Maintenance Craftsperson working alongside the Estates Operational Team to support the day to day operational maintenance of the ESHT estate. Main duties of the job
We are looking to recruit someone who can excel in providing an organised and highly efficient service, a person who can be innovative in their thinking and have the ability to make decisions for themselves and someone who can develop and support the service improvements of the department ensuring that we are fit for the future.
You will have relevant knowledge and experience in an mechanical engineering role and will have successfully completed a recognised mechanical Craft apprenticeship (NVQ3) or equivalent.
The main duties of this role include:
This position involves working a five day week (Mon-Fri) covering the core hours of 07.00 to 15.30 on week one and 08.30 to 17.00 on week two. You will then alternate between these two shifts each week.

- Undertake routine planned maintenance on mechanical equipment within healthcare premises.
- Carry out reactive repairs to mechanical equipment as they arise.
- Carry out repairs and servicing to a range of building services including:
- MPHW boiler systems.
- Building management systems
- Waste water systems.
- Low pressure heating systems.
- Hot and cold water systems.
- Pneumatic tube systems.
- Undertake the role of Competent Person as defined by HTM 02-01 Medical Gas Pipeline Systems.
- Undertake the role of Competent Person as defined by HTM 03-01 Ventilation for Healthcare Buildings.
- Undertake the role of Competent Person as defined by HTM 04-01 Safe water in Healthcare Premises.
- Participate in the On-Call rota.

- Completion of recognised Trade / CITB / EITB or EnTra apprenticeship plus Relevant City and Guilds / BTEC ONC
- At least 3 years other approved qualification and training to at least NVQ level 3 in an engineering or plumbing discipline
