Langley Green is a purpose built hospital for people with acute mental health problems. It comprises of three acute wards which are all mixed sex, and one Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) called Amber ward, which has 12 bedrooms. Coral, Jade and Opal wards are for adults, each with 19 bedrooms and all with en-suite facilities. By joining our bank team at Langley Green you will have the opportunity to work flexibly across all wards in the hospital with our friendly and supportive team.

Main duties of the job

Sussex Partnership provides mental health and learning disability services to adults, children and young people across East Sussex, West Sussex, Brighton and Hove, and children's services in Hampshire. We have been awarded an overall rating of 'good' by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), and assessed 'outstanding' for being caring.

Job description Job responsibilities

To deliver a high standard of evidence based inpatient nursing care in the designated care group in partnership with the team, the service users and where appropriate their family.

To act as a primary nurse in the assessment of needs and organising of care.

To co-ordinate shifts and provide supervision for support workers and students.

To work within a team of nurses and other professionals who are committed to the delivery of a quality service.

To adopt a flexible approach to hours of duty, in order to meet the needs of the service over a 24-hour period.
