The role of InfoFlex system manager is to be responsible for the maintenance, support and improvement of the InfoFlex clinical application.

Main duties of the job

Supporting users with issues.

Maintaining the application environment.

Maintaining and developing safe processes to support the smooth and efficient running of the application.

Take the lead in planning and delivering system updates and enhancements.

Note you may be required at any time to attend any of the STH physical sites to provide on site support.

The Informatics Directorate is responsible for ensuring the operation of secure and confidential systems, the provision of high quality information and records to support patient care, clinical governance and performance management. It is also responsible for developing the Trust's Health Informatics Strategy and for delivering the Trusts Information and Technology Strategy.

The Directorate is responsible for designing, developing, maintaining and supporting the full IT infrastructure (including networks, servers, storage, PCs), integration, in-house as well as managing key Systems such as ICE, ICP, EDMS and InfoFlex. It provides specialist advice not available elsewhere within the Trust on implementation and management of information technology resources and systems.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Degree or equivalent (or extensive experience of supporting or managing clinical systems).
  • ITIL Foundation or willingness to take


Desirable

  • ILM Leadership and Management or equivalent management qualification
  • Project management qualifications


Experience

Essential

  • Extensive NHS experience, working with IT systems in a large complex organisation.
  • Extensive experience of providing support to users of clinical information systems.
  • Extensive experience of configuring and / or developing content for a clinical information system.
  • Understanding of patient data flows within the NHS.
  • Experience of working with national coding conventions and datasets
  • Experience of reviewing software release notes, assessing impact and communicating changes.
  • Experience in creating, running and acting on the outcome of comprehensive test scripts.
  • Experience of software design & development tools and technologies.
  • Experience of system implementation, within an NHS setting or in a large complex organisation
  • Experience of systems/data analysis tools and techniques.
  • Experience of working with multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Experience of liaising with software suppliers in relation to technical design and functionality of products.
  • Experience of system configuration. Experience of Incident Management.


Desirable

  • Experience of working with ITIL and Service Management processes
  • Understanding of PRINCE2 and or Agile Project Management principles and implementation
