Pharmacy Technician Higher Level (Band 5)
Are you an enthusiastic, motivated and committed pharmacy technician?
If so, would you like to join our exciting mental health pharmacy team?
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a well-established and experienced Pharmacy team at HPFT.
We are an expanding, closely knit team based in Radlett (near Watford) working in a newly designed award-winning building (with free parking).
We are looking for a motivated Pharmacy Technician who is keen to expand their experience and is interested in working in a mental health and learning disabilities setting.
Our Trust will have implemented our Electronic Prescribing and Medicines Administration system throughout all our inpatient wards by the end of March 2024
Main duties of the job
The candidate will be expected to:
We are enthusiastic about supporting our staff to develop, as such, you will be required to be an Accredited Medicines Management technician (AIMMS) and an Accredited Checking Technician (ACT) - or working towards.
You should have a BTEC / NVQ Level 3 in Pharmaceutical Sciences or equivalent and be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).

Main duties of the job

- Support the dispensary in the ordering, receiving, dispensing and checking of medication supplies to all wards and departments.
- Visit wards/units throughout Hertfordshire.
- Conduct medicines reconciliations.
- Assess patients' own drugs and transcribe for supply.
- Counsel Patients on their medicines.
- Participate in pharmacy related audits and stock reviews.
