Lung Cancer Frailty Nurse

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the lung cancer team as a frailty nurse. We are seeking a dynamic, enthusiastic individual to fulfil the role of a frailty nurse. You would be working along side the oncogeritrican ensuring that patients are optimised throughout their cancer journey.

37.5 hours per week

15 months fixed term

Main duties of the job

This role will help deliver and develop the frailty services offered across the Lung Cancer directorate supported by the ongogeriatrician service. The post holder will be expected to provide specialist knowledge and care to the patient and their carers. They will support colleagues in the effective management of patients in their specialist area who require a high level of judgement, discretion and decision making within an inpatient or outpatient setting. The post-holder will provide education and training to patients, carers, and healthcare professionals.

Person Specification

Interview + References


  • Registered Nurse
  • Evidence of relevant CPD
  • 2 years band 5 experience in relevant setting
  • Able to manage own workload
  • Awareness of relevant local and national targets
  • Able to work as part of the MDT
  • Communication skills training


  • Teaching/mentor/assessors qualification
  • Experience in delivering teaching/training
  • Able to use a variety of computer programmes
