We’re looking for a Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist (SLT) to join our dynamic, friendly, and supportive Adult Community SLT team to work with adults with communication and swallowing difficulties.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Speech and Language Therapist with post-qualification dysphagia training and clinical dysphagia experience to provide a comprehensive, specialist clinical service to clients with communication and swallowing difficulties. You will work with clients with a wide range of conditions including stroke, progressive neurological disorders, dementia, and learning difficulties. The Solent (East) Adult Community Speech and Language Therapy team covers a wide geographical area that includes Portsmouth City, Fareham & Gosport, and South East Hampshire, in both outpatient and domiciliary settings. Clinical care pathways are in place to support a client’s journey through the service, led by highly specialist SLTs with active contribution by all team members.

This post will provide the opportunity to develop clinical and professional expertise and as an employing organisation and SLT team we offer:
  • Regular team meetings and clinical forums
  • Opportunities for continuing professional development
  • Encouragement to engage with projects, innovations, and research activity
  • Protected time for line- management, clinical supervision, and safeguarding supervision
  • Annual appraisal with six monthly review
  • AHP job plan

We are a values- driven NHS Trust and SLT team, as is reflected in the Trust Values Statement and Strategy and the SLT team vision statement. Our team priorities are to provide great care, ensure that care is equitable across our diverse caseload and geographical area, and to make Solent SLT a great place to work.
