Are you an experienced Dietitian looking for a Band 6 post to develop your skills within a community dietetic position? Or are you a Band 5 dietitian ready to take the next step up?

We understand work life balance is extremely important and support flexible working - we'd be delighted to hear from individuals interested in our service!

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Dietitian working within the county of Somerset. Applicants need to be registered dietitians, with excellent communication skills and a flexible approach.

Our aim is to work with people to help them remain independent, improve their health and manage their conditions through high quality care, advice and support.

We believe that happy colleagues deliver better care, our teams work in a supportive, inclusive environment, which nurtures wellbeing and has opportunities for development and progression.

Relocation packages available for permanent posts.

Main duties of the job

Working alongside our Band 7 dietitian within the community hospital and wider dietetic team, you will provide a dietetic service to community outpatients across the county of Somerset as well as working within the community hospitals.

This will involve not just providing the clinical care but also taking responsibility for service improvement across these designated areas.

You will need to be an excellent communicator, have strong interpersonal, organisational skills and the ability to work flexibly under your own initiative, as well as part of a team.

As a county-wide service, the post will also require driving to various clinic locations and domiciliary visits in the Somerset area ,therefore, due to the nature of the role it is essential that applicants are able to travel independently across the locality and have access to a suitable vehicle for business purposes.

About us

You will become a part of a friendly, welcoming, team of Community Dietitians working alongside our dietetic colleagues, Dietetic Apprentices, Dietetic Assistants, and Administrative staff at Musgrove Park Hospital and Yeovil District Hospital.

We take Student Dietitians from Plymouth University for A, B and C placements, and actively encourage training and CPD.

As an organisation, the NHS offers a wide range of benefits including flexible working, pension contributions, market leading annual leave allowance, career progression and regular conversations, not to mention our Blue Light Card and NHS exclusive discounts.

The benefits of working in Somerset include the idyllic countryside, with our areas of outstanding beauty and stunning coastlines. You will get to enjoy these perks whilst still only being a stone's throw away from bustling city centres like Bristol, Bath and Exeter and only two hours away from London.

There are excellent educational facilities in the area and, when compared to other regions, house prices are reasonable. You will experience the best of both in Somerset, the countryside and the cosmopolitan - there is truly something for everyone!
